Nomzamo Mbatha

Nomzamo Mbatha is notably one of the most prominent South African exports, having recently relocated to Los Angeles to star in Eddie Murphy’s comedy film, Coming 2 America.

Nomzamo Mbatha began her acting career in 2012, after competing in a nationwide talent search on MTV Base. After coming second to Nomuzi “Moozlie” Mabena, Nomzamo managed to secure a lead role on Mzansi Magic’s weekday series, Isibaya. The actress portrayed the character of Thandeka Zungu for seven years, and was tragically killed off the production in early 2020.

It was reported that Nomzamo had exited the show due to her upcoming role in the American film, Coming 2 America. Production for the film has taken her to Los Angeles, California, where she currently resides. Nomzamo Mbatha has also gained major recognition for her role as a philanthropist, and was appointed as a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Refugee Agency in 2019.
