Idols SA has teased the fact that the upcoming guest judge will be veteran gospel singer, Ntokozo Mbambo, taking over from the first guest judge, Prince Kaybee.
Mzansi Magic took to Twitter on Sunday, 11 July 2021, to start the promotional campaign ahead of the second episode of the seventeenth season of Idols South Africa (SA). The first guest judge of the season was acclaimed producer, Prince Kaybee. The feature of the Fetch Your Life hitmaker, who also recently faced a social media furore in light of his leaked n*des, seemed to have benefitted the show. This is as the comments following the premiere episode on Sunday remarked mostly on his presence and good looks.
However, when the show concluded, part of the preview of the upcoming episode revealed that gospel legend and Joyous Celebration alumni, Ntokozo Mbambo is set to guest judge next week. This will mark her first appearance on the show as a guest judge. However, during season 16, the celebrated musician featured as part of the top three performances. Mbambo sang a duet with season 16 winner, Zama Khumalo, with the two performing her hit single, In The Shadow.
Currently, the show has yet to release a promotional video with Mbambo detailing her expectations. The production withheld Prince Kaybee’s until Saturday, 10 July 2021, a day before the show aired.
