Sunday night’s episode of Our Perfect Wedding followed the journey of Boitumelo and Fani as they planned their modern-day Zulu ceremony.

The latest episode of Mzansi Magic’s Our Perfect Wedding, which aired on Sunday, 18 August 2019, saw the bridal couple blend together their traditional Zulu culture with a modern-day white wedding. The bride was seen wearing a white garment, which was complemented with Zulu leopard print material and traditional Zulu headdress called Isicholo. For the exchanging of the vows, the bridal couple wore matching blue traditional ensembles, which were complemented by the bridal party.

Viewers praised the couple’s decision to incorporate traditional Zulu elements into the wedding, however many commented on the groom’s choice to let his male friend view the bride’s outfits beforehand. Lebogang Ramaboea tweeted, “Fani is trusting another man with [viewing] how his wife will look in her wedding dress. He even touched her waist before she went into the fitting room. I hope we don’t see them on [cheaters] soon.” Stocky Tshabalala also commented with, “Was there no female who could represent him? It seems a bit inappropriate if you ask me.”

Our Perfect Wedding follows the story of one engaged couple as they plan every detail leading up to their wedding day. Vele Manenje serves as the host of the reality show, adding a comedic element to sometimes stressful situations. Each episode showcases unexpected drama whilst recounting the bridal couple’s courtship which led them to the day of their wedding.

Our Perfect Wedding airs Sundays at 19:00 on Mzansi Magic, DStv channel 161.
