Pearl Thusi appears to respond to criticism on upcoming role in Wu Assassins

Pearl Thusi’s acting skills have been questioned by some social media users, following the announcement of her being cast in Netflix’s Wu Assassins.

Pearl Thusi topped the Twitter trends list on Thursday, 4 February 2021, following the news that she has been cast in the second season of Netflix’s Wu Assassins. The actress, who is currently on set in Thailand, had kept the news of her role a secret up until media commentator, Phil Mphela, broke the news, causing for social media commentary to begin.

Critics shared their opinions on Pearl’s acting skills and further questioned how she keeps being cast in international series and movies. One user commented, “I don’t understand how she keeps getting these gigs. Like how, when the woman can’t even act.”

After keeping quiet for the majority of the day, Pearl appeared to address the criticism in a cryptic tweet, stating, “Dogs bark at moving cars.” Her tweet suggested that those incapable of achieving success are often the first to criticise those who are constantly progressing. Her tweet caused for further controversy, as some took offense and did not appreciate being referred to as dogs. However, Pearl has yet to further comment on the matter.
