Pearl Thusi fuels colourism debate with more bikini images

Pearl Thusi took to Twitter to show that she is unfazed by being at the centre of the ongoing colourism debate, following her recent post which sparked the controversy.

Pearl Thusi directly addressed the cyberbullying over her complexion in a series of tweets on Wednesday, 5 August 2020. The media personality created a stir on Twitter when she posted a bikini image and quoted Beyoncé’s Brown Skin Girl, featuring Wizkid and Saint Jhn, as her caption. The backlash she received was from people claiming she is not “dark enough” to embody the song’s lyrical content.

Pearl, who has been at the centre of the same debate many times before, asserted her stance by sharing more bikini images and continuing to use the lyrics as her caption. The Queen Sono actress expressed how much fun she is having by “trolling trolls,” meaning she is getting joy from showing she is unfazed by the cyberbullying over her fair complexion.
