Pearl Thusi took stock of her incredible career achievements on Monday, 1 October 2018.
Actress Pearl Thusi is no stranger to posing for magazine covers. In fact, she began her career as a model, winning the 2003 Miss South Africa Teen title.
Now, 15 years later, Thusi has graced the cover of SAA’s in-flight magazine, SAWUBONA. The Quantico actress took to social media on Monday, 1 October, to celebrate the cover spread.
“At home in KZN, there should still be a copy of the very first SAWUBONA magazine I ever laid my eyes on. SAA was the first airline I ever flew with. It was 2003, just turned 15 and I was a Miss SA Teen finalist. And I was going to be on a plane for the first time ever. I grabbed anything I could to remember the occasion. My dad drove me, we were hours early.
How things change, now they all wave at me as I sprint to the gates. Today I am a platinum member of South African Airways and on the cover of SAWUBONA. We should always take stock of our achievements. 15 years later. Now I fly all over the world and I grace the cover of the same magazine that accompanied me on that unforgettable journey to make my dreams come true,” she wrote.
The October edition of SAWUBONA features an inside story on Thusi’s life and travels. The magazine names her as an ‘African Gem’ on its cover.
