Pearl Thusi has come under fire on Twitter, after a screenshot of her comment on Khanyi Mbau’s post about her father’s memorial service was shared on the platform.
Pearl Thusi took to Instagram on Tuesday, 22 September 2020, to comment on the post that Khanyi Mbau shared announcing the memorial and funeral arrangements of her late father, Menzi Mcunu. In her comment, Pearl simply wrote, “Hectic.” The word is now often used as a substitute for “wow,” or similar terms of conveying surprise or shock.
However, it seems that the post was interrogated with a sceptical eye, considering the Queen Sono lead actress’ tumultuous relationship with users on the platform. Some users lambasted her, not necessarily for the comment, but rather, her supposed attention-seeking tactics. Others referenced her rumoured relationship with a Nigerian man, claiming that she has changed since allegedly being involved with the unnamed man.
See the posts below.
There is genuinely something wrong ka Pearl Thusi shame. Her need for attention even in the worst possible times is worrying. How the hell do you comment “Hectic” on someone’s post where they are giving the details of their dead parent’s memorial service? What the hell is this? pic.twitter.com/mbqHivF2Mk

Pearl Thusi commented "Hectic" on Khanyi's post because losing a parent is painful and obviously "hectic" in such a way that no one deserves to go through such pain. Why are people putting so much weight on something as simple as this? Bitterness much, huh?
