Comedy Central has revealed that South African media personality, Pearl Thusi, is the official Roast Master for the Roast of AKA.
Quantico actress, Pearl Thusi, is the channel’s first female Roast Master in Africa and the first black woman, globally, to take the stand. She will be joined by a panel of South African celebrities who will be grilling hip-hop rapper, Kiernan Forbes, popularly known as AKA. The names of the celebrity panel are yet to be released.
The Comedy Central Roast is a series of celebrity roast specials that features up to ten celebrities on the panel and a Roast Master.
The Comedy Central Roast of AKA in partnership with Showmax will be open to the public to attend, on Thursday, 21 February 2019, at Teatro at Montecasino, Johannesburg.
“I already do this now and again on twitter, AKA and I roast each other almost every other day, now we’re doing it for TV” she said, in an interview on Metro FM’s Fresh Breakfast with popular radio host, DJ Fresh, on Monday 28 January 2019.
The Roast of AKA comedy show will be recorded live and premiere on Comedy Central on Monday, 11 March, 2019. The uncut and uncensored show will be available on Showmax, on Tuesday, 12 March 2019.
Tickets were sold out, but more tickets were released and are available for purchase at Computicket, retailing at R350.
