The South African media personality took to social media to showcase her latest hairstyle, a cornrow hairdo completed with multiple decorative beads.

South African media personality and actress, Pearl Thusi, took to social media on Sunday, 13 October 2019, to showcase her new braided hairstyle. The hairdo features cornrow braids ending halfway across her head and single braids on the remainder of the hair. She adorned the braids with various colours and shapes of decorative beads. She completed with hairdo with gold rings attached to the centre of the braided hairdo.

She captioned the image humorously saying, “Five head gang” referring to herself as having a large forehead. The term is used among social media users to imply that certain hairstyles, such as cornrows, seem to highlight one’s forehead.

Many social media users flooded the post with complimentary messages to Pearl while others proceeded to playfully mock the actress for her caption. Idols SA judge, Unathi Nkayi, was amongst those who commented on the post, also humorously admitting to having a big forehead. Also among the comments was actress, Natasha Thahane who wrote, “Yes, that’s us. Gang gang”, referring to herself as part of the group.

One social media user offered a different perspective, saying that the actress’ image will be plastered on various ethnic hair salons around the continent to advertise the hairstyle. “It won’t be long now, this picture will be at ethnic salons across the continent. Congratulations Pearl”, she wrote, to which pearl responded with laughing emojis.
