Pearl Thusi took to Twitter to make it clear that she is unbothered by the backlash she received for her comment on Khanyi Mbau’s post about her father’s memorial and funeral services.
Pearl Thusi took to Twitter on Tuesday, 22 September 2020, to share how she feels about the backlash she received from users. The BET Africa’s Behind The Story host had commented on Khanyi Mbau’s post about her father, Menzi Mcunu’s memorial and funeral services. She simply stated, “Hectic.”
Her comment initially received backlash from Twitter users, who suggested that the comment was insensitive. However, as the matter started garnering traction, the debate was not necessarily over the tweet, but rather, over Pearl’s alleged affiliation with foreign, specifically Nigerian, men.
Pearl eventually addressed the matter by quoting a line from Cassper Nyovest’s song, Egyptian Cotton. The star made it clear that she is unbothered by the commentary, while attending Rich Mnisi’s launch with friend and fellow media personality, Boity Thulo.
