Prince Kaybee has been labelled a clout chaser by some social media users, after he shared the meaning of the terms PFMA and MFMA on Twitter.
Prince Kaybee took to Twitter on Tuesday, 5 October 2021, to share the definitions of the abbreviations, PFMA and MFMA. The two terms trended following the blunder made by media personality and businessman, Shimza. Shimza was involved in a Twitter back-and-forth with politician, Mmusi Maimane. During the back-and-forth on the alleged corruption of the African National Congress, Maimane wrote, “Maybe you just know me from Twitter streets but I have extensive experience with PFMA and MFMA from my prior and current jobs.”
Seemingly, Shimza, like most people on Twitter who are not in politics or construction, did not know the meaning of the terms. Therefore, following his dismissive response, Twitter users lambasted him for his believed lack of knowledge and ignorance. Later that day, Prince Kaybee took to Twitter and provided the definition of the abbreviations, with a thread concluding that Twitter users need to “Google guys!”
It was his last word which garnered him backlash. This is as Twitter users suggested that it was questionable that he would share the definition but still suggest that people should google the terms. Secondly, it was also highlighted that there was no need for him to try and get involved in the matter.
See the post below.
PFMA – Public Finance Management Act, No. 1 of 1999 and Regulations regulate the management of finances in national and provincial government
