Producer and deejay, Prince Kaybee, problematized the initiative of buying from local street vendors, suggesting that people should rather donate the money to them and let them keep their stock as groceries.
On Wednesday, 25 March 2020, Prince Kaybee took to Twitter to problematize the initiative of buying from local street vendors, ahead of the national lockdown. In his tweets, Prince Kaybee stated that it is wasteful to purchase fresh produce in bulk because of the risk of it rotting. Instead, he suggested that those who can afford to, should rather donate money to the street vendors and let them share the produce with their families.

The whole thing of buying all stock from street vendors doesn’t make sense to me. Why not just give them the money and let them keep that stock as groceries for themselves for the rest of the Lockdown so that when they get back they have capital to buy more stock.

Alot of you are worried about where will the street vendors take the stock? LET THEM SHARE THE REST WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS‼️ Just donate without taking IF YOU CAN AFFORD TO😊 https://t.co/9P0mPzrN1l
