Prince Kaybee releases new single, Sbindi Uyabulala, for free

Prince Kaybee has confirmed the surprise release of his new single, Sbindi Uyabulala, featuring Nkosazana and Musada, ahead of the official release of the single.

Prince Kaybee took to Instagram on Thursday, 30 September 2021, to confirm the unofficial availability of his new single, Sbindi Uyabulala, featuring Nkosazana and Musada. The single was initially meant for release on Friday, 1 October 2021, but Prince Kaybee could have released it early due to the catalogue of music set to be released on the day, such as De Mthuda’s Wamuhle, featuring Njelic, Boohle and Da Muziqal Chef. This is especially after the amapiano producer-DJ trended for three days after the release of Jola, featuring Sino Msolo and Da Muziqal Chef, on Friday, 24 September 2021.

The release of the single functioned to get ahead of the scheduled Friday releases. The strategy seemed to have worked, as Prince Kaybee has already amassed close to 4 500 views on YouTube. This is as the single was only made available on YouTube. Seemingly, to release the song across digital streaming platforms would require permission from distributor, Universal Music Group, South Africa.

The production on Sbindi Uyabulala is reminiscent of Prince Kaybee’s collaborative single with Black Motion and Shimza, featuring Ami Faku, titled uWrongo. The lo-fi and breathy bass provide an atmospheric bass, which Nkosazana rides with her haunting vocals singing about rising up to meet your opportunities with courage, despite the fear, which is a reference to the isiZulu idiom, “S’bindi uyabulala, s’bindi uyaphilisa.”
