Rami Chuene was a topic of discussion as Twitter users criticised her comments on businesswoman and reality star, Shauwn Mkhize’s Instagram post, suggesting that she was breaking lockdown regulations.
Rami Chuene was apologetic following her trending comments on Saturday, 6 June and Sunday, 7 June 2020. Twitter users started circulating various screenshots of Rami’s comments on Shauwn Mkhize’s Instagram page, which made it clear that the two are friends.
On Sunday, Rami was accused of endorsing Shauwn’s alleged non-compliance with lockdown regulations. In her comment, Rami attempted to find out if her friend had really gone out the night before. With social gatherings being prohibited by the national lockdown regulations, Rami faced backlash for supposedly promoting such behaviour.
After realising that she was trending for all the wrong reasons, Rami took to Twitter to acknowledge the comments and apologise. Her post suggested that the interaction was purely frivolous, stating, “This is not the time to drop the ball – even in jest.”
