Rea Tsotella highlights realities of sibling rivalries

The latest episode of Rea Tsotella highlighted the complexities of sibling rivalries, as no one person involved comes out of it unscathed.

Moja Love took to Twitter on Monday, 20 September 2021, to share a preview of the then upcoming episode of Rea Tsotella. The episode featured Thandi, who wrote in to have host, Bishop Israel Makamu talk to her two sisters. Thandi believes that her sisters talk ill of her to their friends and family, suggesting that she is practicing witchcraft. This is besides her sisters allegedly taking jabs at her appearance.

When the sisters, Queen and Nkanyezi were invited to share their side of the story, viewers began questioning if Thandi was actually the victim in this situation. This is as the sisters made compelling cases as to why they have side-lined their sister. Moreover, the more they shared their own experiences, the more nuanced and apparent the antagonism between the sisters became.

In light of this, Moja Love took to Twitter during the airing of the show to fuel the viewers’ polarised reactions. This is as the post asked Twitter users who they were siding with between the sisters. Furthermore, the episode did not have a conclusion, which suggested that the sisters either reconciled or possibly found an amicable way forward.

Although the episode did not provide a conclusion, it did lead viewers to do some introspection of their own into their sibling relationships. Seemingly, how viewers felt about their own siblings informed their reactions to the episode. Therefore, many found it easy to believe that Thandi is the victim, while others believed that she was the instigator based on their personal relationships.
