Rea Tsotella: Viewers show no sympathy for woman who tried to illegally acquire an ID

Monday night’s episode of Rea Tsotella saw fans showing no mercy for a woman who complained about losing money when she tried to illegally buy a South African Identity Document (ID).

The latest episode of Moja Love’s Rea Tsotella, which aired on Monday, 29 July 2019, saw a young woman confront the man who ran off with her money. The man had promised to illegally acquire South African IDs for the woman and her husband, so that they could officially work in the country. The woman detailed how she was approached by Sithole, her neighbour, who claimed that he knew a woman at the South African Home Affairs identification documentation department, and for a sum of money he would introduce them to her. When confronting Sithole, the woman demanded her money back, to which he denied any involvement in the scam.

Viewers of the show took to social media to share their disapproval of the woman’s plans, with many stating that she deserved to be scammed as she planned to scam the South African Home Affairs department. Ntobeko Sambo shared a comment on Facebook which stated, “You don’t report it because you are also a thief!”. Shadi also shared a tweet stating, “Why would you ask someone else to get your ID done? Then you have the audacity to complain on national television?”.
