The musician has partnered with Red Bull Music South Africa to host a discussion at the precinct in the build up to the first-ever Cotton Fest.
Popular rapper, Riky Rick, announced on Wednesday, 30 January 2019, that he would be hosting a public discussion on his music at 70 Juta Street in Braamfontein ahead of the upcoming Cotton Fest.
The listening session is a joint venture between Red Bull Music South Africa and the Cotton Fest organisation. Attendees will be treated to a discussion with the rapper on Thursday, 31 January 2019, at 7pm and entrance is free.
The star will also be hosting an official pre-party at the Onyx nightclub in Sandton later that evening. Artists Double D, Vato Kayde, Dr Peppa, Sandiso, Magnum, Sebastian and Kaymo will all be featured in the show. All of the above-mentioned artists, with the exception of Magnum, Sandiso and Kaymo, will be performing at the Cotton Fest on Saturday, 2 February 2019 at The Station in Newtown, Johannesburg.
Yesterday, Tuesday, 29 January 2019, the rapper – whose real name is Rikhado Makhado – announced on social media that the festival tickets had been completely sold out. The rapper promised to give away merchandise and tickets at the official pre-party.
The Cotton Festival is the first of its kind, celebrating the best in South African hip-hop music, fashion and culture. It will be a big event with over 80 acts performing on two stages. The star-studded line-up includes A-Reece, Kwesta, Stogie T, Nadia Nakai, Emtee, Ayanda MVP and Moozlie.
