SABC 1 confirms Vusi Kunene’s departure from Generations: The Legacy

SABC 1 has addressed the rumours surrounding Vusi Kunene’s impending departure from Generations: The Legacy, and has confirmed that the claims are true.

SABC 1’s Generations: The Legacy will see the loss of veteran actor, Vusi Kunene, in May 2021, after he reportedly resigned from his role on the show. In a statement issued to JustNje today, 10 March 2021, Generations: The Legacy’s publicist, Nandipha Pantsi, stated, “Yes. Vusi Kunene is leaving the show to pursue other ventures. His final episodes will air in May.”

No other information was provided about his departure, and the actor has yet to personally comment on his decision to leave the show. Vusi reprised his role as Jack Mabaso in the long-running drama series in late 2015, and has continued to be an integral part of the storyline since then. It is still unclear whether Vusi’s exit will be through a death, or whether his character’s departure will be left open-ended to allow for a possible return in the future.
