SABC 2 announces new comedy show, Comedy Mixtape

SABC 2 has confirmed the airing of a new comedy show, Comedy Mixtape, which will feature some of the leading comedians in the country.

SABC 2 took to Twitter on Friday, 11 June 2021, to confirm the upcoming premiere of a new television show, Comedy Mixtape. The premise of the show has been shared cryptically, in an effort to entice audiences to watch to discover the segments of the show. However, the promotional posts have all affirmed that the show will include a star-studded lineup of some of the leading comedic voices in the country.

According to the various posts, Comedy Mixtape is a comedy skit show. This means that the show will feature the leading comedians being placed in various fictional situations. The comedians will then play out the comical situations as fictional characters. The show is believed to be relatively similar to the iconic The Pure Monate Show, however, with the use of well-known comedians.

Included on the lineup of comedians is Tumi Morake, Nina Hastie, Chester Missing, Rob van Vuuren, Schalk Bezuidenhout, Dr Riaad Moosa, and other celebrated comedians. The first episode is set to premiere on Friday, 11 June 2021, on SABC 2 at 19:30.
