The SABC has confirmed that the upcoming episode of Generations: The Legacy will mark the exit of actor, Vusi Kunene, who assumes the role of Jack Mabaso.
The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) took to Twitter on Monday, 10 May 2021, to announce the date of the final appearance of beloved antagonist on popular soapie, Generations: The Legacy, Jack Mabaso. The loved-to-be-hated character is played by veteran actor, Vusi Kunene, who has now left the show.
According to a statement confirming that Kunene is set to exit the show, “After five years on Generations: The Legacy, Vusi Kunene is taking a break from the show. Kunene’s villainous character, Jack Mabaso, makes his thrilling exit on Wednesday, 12 May 2021.”
The statement has led to speculation of his possible return to the show in the future, as his exit has been described as a break. Kunene was quoted as saying, “I’ve always had a serious passion for Jack. He is the most popular character I have ever played and bringing him to life has been a pleasure. I’m really going to miss everyone because Generations is like a family.” Adding, “It’s not one person’s work, it’s all our work. We all pull together and that’s what makes it so special.”
