Samthing Soweto, with very little promotion, has released the follow-up project to his critically acclaimed album, Isphithiphithi, with the release of an EP titled Danko!.
Samthing Soweto took to Twitter on Friday, 11 December 2020, to announce the availability of his new project, Danko!. The EP is the follow-up to his critically acclaimed 2019-released album, Isphithiphihi. Samthing Soweto did not heavily promote the EP before its release. The offering consists of six tracks, with the musician continuing to carve his niche in the music landscape with his signature voice.
A strategy that Samthing Soweto used in the creation of the album was to lean on new and upcoming artists, instead of collaborating with regular contributors again, such as the Scorpion Kings. However, a continued collaborator on the album is musician and DJ, De Mthuda. Together, he and Samthing Soweto produced four of the six songs, including, Chomi, Tilili featuring Da Muziqal Chef and MalumNator, Ngisendleleni and Weekend.
The other songs on the EP are Hey Wena, featuring Alie-Keys, and Danko! Medley, featuring Mzansi Youth Choir.
The EP is available for purchase on Apple Music.
