Scorpion Kings, comprising Kabza De Small and DJ Maphorisa, have revealed their new collaborative single with TRESOR, Funu, which is taken off their upcoming joint album.
Scorpion Kings and TRESOR, on Friday, 11 December 2020, confirmed their upcoming collaborative album by releasing the first single, Funu. Scorpion Kings consists of amapiano producer and DJing pioneers, DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small. The upcoming album, titled Rumble In The Jungle, is just another way the two have pushed the envelope regarding amapiano and its reach.
Funu, which is the lead single from the album, is a mid-tempo single that is not meant for a club environment, but rather, laid-back listening sessions. The song is suggested as one of the more laid-back songs on the album, according to a press release issued on the day of its debut.
“On Rumble In The Jungle, TRESOR’s uplifting vocals elevate Maphorisa and De Small’s compositions that blend amapiano and afro-house to create a sound that is groove-inducing and is sure to set the tone for the rest of summer,” the statement read.
The single is available for purchase on Apple Music.
