Sello Maake kaNcube and Xolile Tshabalala set to return to Blood & Water

Blood & Water has confirmed the premiere date of the much-anticipated second season, with veteran actors, Sello Maake kaNcube and Xolile Tshabalala set to return.

Netflix South Africa took to Twitter on Monday, 23 August 2021, to confirm the premiere date of the much-anticipated second season of Blood & Water. The first season of the show debuted in May 2020. Following its debut, the show became a runaway success which immediately had calls for a second season. The platform confirmed the show for its second season within the year. However, it took over a year for Netflix to announce the official release date of the new season.

According to the supporting statement issued, “Parkhurst High returns with a rocky start between Puleng and Fikile following the revelation of the DNA results and the drama ensures to test old alliances and forging new and unlikely friendships. A new school therapist joins the staff and a new hunk, Sam, joins the Parkhurst gang with both bringing a few secrets of their own… One thing that we can all be sure of is nothing is ever as it seems and nobody will be left unscathed by the truth.”

Moreover, the statement affirmed that the lead cast will return to reprise their roles. This includes Ama Qamata, Khosi Ngema, Thabang Molaba, Dillon Windvogel, Natasha Thahane, Gail Mabalane, Cindy Mahlangu, Arno Greeff, Mekaila Mathys, and Greteli Fincham. Additionally, the cast will feature new students, Leroy Siyafa as Sam Nkosana, Katishcka Chanderal as Pauline, and Alzavia Abrahams as Zyd.

Moreover, the cast will also feature returning veteran actors, Sello Maake kaNcube and Xolile Tshabalala. Sonia Mbele, Zikhona Sodlaka and Patrick Mofokeng are also among the new guest appearances. Blood & Water is set to return to Netflix on Friday, 24 September 2021.
