Showmax has shared a preview of the upcoming new season of its original comedy series, Black Tax, with Jo-Anne Reyneke set to reprise her lead role as Thuli.
Showmax took to Twitter on Wednesday, 29 September 2021, to share the first look of the upcoming season of Black Tax. For the month of September 2021, Showmax, along with BET Africa, have been on a promotional campaign ahead of the airing of their jointly-produced original comedy series. Lead actress, Jo-Anne Reyneke reprising her role as the breadwinner, Thuli, has already been confirmed.
In a statement shared by ViacomCBS Network Africa on Wednesday, 22 September 2021, Reyneke was quoted as saying, “I’m beyond excited about Black Tax Season 2. I’ve been waiting so long to be with my cast mates/family in the crazy, fun and safe environment we’ve created with each other. What’s even more exciting is all the new characters that have joined our family, and we’ve been jelling so well. The script is funnier, there are way more laughs on set, sometimes it’s really hard to get through scenes without bursting into laughter. All in all I’m really excited for people to see it.”
Although the first look does not show the new cast members, Motlatsi Mafatshe, Owen Sejake and Asante Mabuza have been confirmed as the additional cast members. Season two of Black Tax is set to premiere on Showmax on Saturday, 9 October 2021.
