Sizwe Dhlomo has affirmed that he does not have aspirations of venturing into politics, after being asked by a follower to start his own political party.
Sizwe Dhlomo took to Twitter on Monday, 28 June 2021, to affirm that he does not have aspirations of starting a political party. The question was posed to Dhlomo following his various commentary on President Cyril Ramaphosa’s address on Sunday, 27 June 2021. Dhlomo engaged with fans that were airing their frustrations with Ramaphosa and his administration.
These frustrations also highlighted Ramaphosa speaking his mother tongue, along with other South African indigenous languages during his speech. Moreover, his choice to reference former President Nelson Mandela to deliver news of a return to Alert Level 4 restrictions and regulations sparked conversation. The readjustment is said to be mostly due to the staggered rollout programme by the state, which arguably resulted in the country’s current third wave.
Due to Dhlomo continually making public observations and commenting on the current socio-political landscape, he was asked to actually get into politics by opening his own party. The Kaya FM personality subsequently made it clear that he does not intend to ever do so.
