Sjava admits to major record label rejection due to lack of social media presence

Sjava engaged with his followers on Twitter and recounted being rejected by a major record label, based on the fact that he was not active on social media.

Sjava took to Twitter on Thursday, 15 April 2021, to engage with his followers and answer some of their questions. The acclaimed musician, whose success has grown in leaps and bounds in the past four years, detailed how he was rejected by a major record label because he had no social media presence at the time.

The detailing thereof led to questions about his humble beginnings. Sjava was forthcoming, which led to followers asking about his early days at Ambitiouz Entertainment. Sjava suggested that the promise of money was part of the incentive that record label executive, Kgosi, used to get the best out of them.

Sjava detailed how Kgosi supposedly laid R5 000 in cash in front of them and stated that the one with the best verse would get the money. The amount is considerable, considering that Emtee once claimed that he had been receiving a five-figure monthly salary at the height of his career while signed to Ambitouz Entertainment.
