Skeem Saam: Mapitsi feels increasingly uncomfortable in her own home

Monday night’s episode of Skeem Saam saw Leeto finding out that Marothi had illegally obtained tapes from the factory, resulting in him refusing to work with Marothi and Rachel on the case.

The latest episode of SABC 1’s Skeem Saam, which aired on Monday, 12 August 2019, saw Leeto discover that Marothi had gotten ahold of illegal tapes which would supposedly help with Rachel’s case. Upon finding out this information, Leeto notified Marothi that he would no longer be representing Rachel as he does not want to be involved in unethical behaviour. Later in the episode, Rachel’s mother and uncle approached Leeto, appealing for him to help Rachel on their behalf and not Marothi’s.

Viewers weighed in on Leeto’s choice to back out of the case, with many stating that his moral conscience is inhibiting him from being a good lawyer. Thabiso Sepeng shared a tweet which stated, “What kind of a defense lawyer is Leeto? Defense lawyers play dirty all time.” Others also commented on Rachel’s mother’s influence on the trial, which had Rachel upset with her interference. Mmabatho Nkoana stated, “Rachel does not like the fact that her mom hates her husband. And even if you were married to someone, you wouldn’t want your mom to hate your partner.”

The upcoming episode of Skeem Saam sees an enemy of Rachel’s impact the result of her bail hearing. Tbose grows frustrated when he doesn’t get his way with Mapitsi and a grieving relative decides to focus on his number one priority instead of joining some activists.

Skeem Saam airs weekdays at 18:30 on SABC 1.
