Snotkop and Ricus Nel to perform at the 2019 Royal Afrikaanse Musiek Konsert

Organisers of the Royal Afrikaanse Musiek Konsert, set to take place on Sunday, 26 May 2019, have revealed that the likes of Ricus Nel and Snotkop are set to perform

Some of South Africa’s finest Afrikaans musicians are set to perform at the Royal Afrikaanse Musiek Konsert, which is set to take place at the Royal Agricultural Show Grounds in Pietermaritzburg on Sunday, 26 May 2019.

Some of the biggest artists set to perform on the star-studded line-up include Ricus Nel, Sonja Herholdt, Tussen Sterre and Snotkop.

Ricus Nel, a household name in the South African music scene, is an Afrikaans musician who has achieved gold status with his record sales. He is a multi-talented artist that is just as talented in penning songs as he is in playing instruments. He is known for his distinctive country rock sound, as well as hits like Hardekole, Rebecca and I Recall a Gypsy Woman.

Sonja Herholdt is a South African songstress who is known for songs like Ek Verlang Na Jou, Harlekyn, Waterblommetjies and Skipskop. She has received multiple accolades throughout her career. She was awarded the Sarie Award for Best Singer in 1975 and the Papillon Rising Star Award in 1979.

Tussen Sterre is an Afrikaans pop/rock group comprising of Jan-Mattys van Lill, Martin Clifford Earle and SJ van Dyk. The band rose to fame after the release of their debut album Komsies, which was released on Friday, 1 September 2017.

Lastly Snotkop, one of South Africa’s biggest music personas, is also set to take the stage. He won South Africans over with his infectious music, energetic performances and unique rapping skills.
