South Africa celebrates news of Nomzamo Mbatha’s casting in upcoming movie, Coming 2 America

South African celebrities have taken to social media to congratulate actress, Nomzamo Mbatha, after news of her casting in the upcoming sequel, Coming 2 America, was announced.

In the early hours of Friday, 23 August 2019, news of Nomzamo Mbatha’s lead casting in the sequel to the 1988 Eddie Murphy-led film, Coming To America, surfaced. The sequel will be titled Coming 2 America. Before the news surfaced, the actress had taken to her social media pages to share that she has acclimatised to staying in Atlanta after her first week in Georgia.

The artist, who is already in the production phase for the film, has not released an official statement on her social media pages. The news was shared by her international management and PR company, Three Sixty Communications, stating, “Moving to Los Angeles was a choice of faith, and God has surpassed my wildest dreams. This is bigger than me – this is a moment from every girl who doubts herself or just how big God is…”

Soon after, South Africa woke to the news, with many South African media personalities taking to social media to congratulate the Isibaya famed actress. Someone who alluded to the news was media personality, Anele Mdoda, who posted, “Drop the news I [want to] see something. Nomzamo Mbatha, congrats lady.”

One of the first to send a congratulatory message was model and actress, Refilwe Modiselle, who wrote, “My God Nomzamo Mbatha! I’m screaming. God is good…  Look at you! Congratulations S’thandwa sam.” Media personality, Hulisani Ravele, created a name for Nomzamo’s fan base, writing, “Wow! Congratulations Nomzamo Mbatha! Zamunda stans!”

Fellow actress, Thulisile Phongolo, wrote, “This is epic! Nomzamo Mbatha you’re so deserving of this, enjoy every single moment and keep soaring through!” Boity Thulo shared how the feat was inspiring by writing, “Won’t God do it?! Congratulations, Nomzamo Mbatha! Keep rising and inspiring us, Queen!”
