This week’s episode of Survivor SA saw Danté, also known as the island’s Aqua Man, being voted out following the tribe labelling him as a major physical threat.
The latest episode of M-Net’s Survivor SA, which aired on Thursday, 1 August 2019, saw Rob and his alliance members rally to vote off Danté after he won his third reward challenge, allowing him to be at his optimum for future physical challenges. The episode saw Danté appear to be unfazed by the tribe’s willingness to vote him out, which led to him taking in his surroundings and accepting his fate at tribal council.
Speaking to JustNje, Danté stated, “Every chapter has a closing, and this is mine. I am super blessed to be a part of it. Last night was my turn and it was fair enough.” Asked if he knew he would be the next to go, Danté explained, “I think there is a build-up and you tend to read the situation and how people react and look at you, not speak to you or speak to you. At that point, the alliances were so locked in that it was very difficult for me to see an outcome. My fate last night was basically in the hands of those I shared my reward with. At that stage, at that time and in that moment, it seemed like all the doors were shut.”
Known for speaking his mind and airing his grievances with his tribal members, Danté stated that he would be looking for similar characteristics in the winner. He described his ultimate Survivor SA champion as, “Someone who was consistent throughout the season, and someone who adapted well. To a degree, someone who stayed true to themselves because I think the island taxes you so quickly that you lose track of who you are and some people change for the worst when it comes to needing that one vote or one alliance. I will be looking for someone who makes big moves and not necessarily followed all the way through.”
Survivor SA airs on Thursdays at 19:00 on M-Net, DStv channel 101.
