Survivor SA: Steffi says she is still struggling to deal with Nicole’s betrayal

Published on

Thursday night’s episode of Survivor SA saw front-runner, Steffi, being the latest contestant to join the jury, following an epic blindside from her alliance members.

Last night’s episode of M-Net’s Survivor SA, which aired on Thursday, 5 September 2019, saw Steffi being voted out, following Nicole’s choice to reveal her plans to Rob, which involved voting him out so that there would be an all-female final. Prior to tribal council, Steffi remained confident with her place in the game after discovering that Letitia had gained an advantage which allowed her to cancel someone else’s vote. Once at tribal council, Nicole revealed that she would be playing her idol for Durao, and Rob would be playing it for Nicole. Fearful that she would be voted out, Letitia played her idol for herself, leaving Steffi as the only one without immunity.

Speaking with JustNje, Steffi revealed her emotions following last night’s episode, stating, “It was humiliating. Watching it over brings back those feelings that I felt. It was intense and I’m a bit shocked at Nicole’s way of playing this game. I honestly don’t have words. All I know is everyone makes choices and she made her choice, and it took her forward… she outwitted me. This game is about deception. Because she did not come up with an all-woman’s final, she most probably felt intimidated sitting at the final with me, whilst I initiated this plan.”

The episode also showcased Nicole justifying her action to save Rob instead of Steffi, by her stating that she wanted to support men who empower women, instead of making the decision to promote an all-female final. Steffi commented on Nicole’s words with, “That was [nonsense]. That was just her trying to justify the wrong that she did. I actually feel sorry for her considering what’s going on in the world right now and the timing, but justifying her giving the idol to Durao based on that, and the speech was very unnecessary.”

The two-hour-long Survivor SA finale will air on Thursday, 12 September 2019, at 19:00 on M-Net, DStv channel 101.
