Survivor SA: Viewers’ opinion of Rob changes from admiration to frustration

Thursday night’s episode of Survivor SA saw Rob taking the target off his back as Kingpin but leaving viewers disapproving of his sneaky tactics.

The latest episode of M-Net’s Survivor SA, which aired on Thursday, 25 July 2019, saw Rob remove himself as the number one threat, by using his strategic game plan to put his close ally, Seipei, in the firing line. Having lost individual immunity, Rob informed his fellow tribe members that mother-hen, Seipei, was gunning for their alliance members, allowing them to become fearful of her and vote in Rob’s favour. With the majority of the tribe members targeting Seipei, the perfect blindside was executed, saving Rob from another week of elimination.

Fans of the show took to social media to condemn Rob for his overpowering influence on the game, with many questioning his integrity and loyalty – a key component of Survivor. Sibongile Mafu stated, “Treacherous Tarzan must go. High key can’t stand him, low key respect how he’s running the show.” Carl Altin shared those sentiments, stating, “He’s definitely running the show hard. Organizing the first big move on Rocco and now convincing everyone Seipei was the puppet master.” Ashley Teboho Moloi commented on the game moving forward, with, “Dante’s game play was better. If Rob gets voted out, everything will crumble. Getting rid of Seipe was not smart. They have taken Rob straight to the finals.”

Next week’s episode of Survivor SA sees the tribe members continue to battle to find their place next to Rob, with blindsides on the horizon and individual immunity being more vital than ever before.

Survivor SA airs on Thursdays at 19:00 on M-Net, DStv channel 101.
