Sydney nightclub Marquee to host A$AP Rocky

The Sydney nightclub has announced that popular Hip-Hop artist A$AP Rocky will take centre stage on Saturday, 29 September 2018, but no supporting acts have been announced.

Sydney’s popular nightclub Marquee has revealed their guest act for Saturday, 22 September 2018 by posting a digital flyer on their official website and social media pages. The club will be hosting ‘Fashion Killa’ hitmaker A$AP Rocky.

For most of us, the abbreviation ASAP means ‘as soon as possible,’ but speaking to the media, the rapper revealed that to him, the abbreviation has two meanings: ‘Always Strive And Prosper’ and ‘Accumulate Status And Power.’

In a feature interview for the May 2018 issue of Complex magazine, the rapper opened up about what music means to him and the emotions he hopes to stir up in people through his music. He commented:

“Everything has to be aligned correctly. One little thing, one little mishap, one little imperfection could throw off a whole cycle. I would prefer to put out music to change people’s mood or uplift or get a feeling or a reaction, opposed to just making music to stay relevant for the sake of popularity.”

Apart from being a rapper, Rocky has gone on to pursue other successful creative endeavours within the art, fashion, film & TV and lifestyle industries. He became the first black male to have ever been named the face of popular French brand Dior in 2016.

Pre-sale tickets for Saturday night have been sold out, but a limited allocation will be available at the door on the night. The nightclub has noted that entry is subject to capacity and dress code. A valid Australian driver’s license or passport will be required for identification purposes. Doors open at 22:30.
