Taboo to host the ‘god of celebrations’

Taboo is gearing up to host their One Night with MEDUSA and One Night with DIONYSUS themed event, featuring the likes of DJ Warras, DJ PH and Ayanda MVP.

Popular Sandton nightclub Taboo will be hosting what they call the ‘god of celebrations’ with their One Night with MEDUSA and One Night with DIONYSUS themed event tonight, 28 September 2018. The event will feature the likes of former Live Amp presenters DJ Warras and Lerato Kganyago, DJ PH, Naked DJ, DJ Capital, Nel, Magnum and Ayanda MVP.

Ayanda MVP is fast becoming a household name since her campus radio days. The KZN-born starlet started off as a radio presenter at the University of Pretoria’s campus station, Tuks FM, before being scooped up by Gauteng’s biggest youth radio station, YFM.

Since then, she has become one of the country’s most sought-after MCs and club DJs, and currently hosts the weekday lunch time show on 947.

Although she has achieved much success in a very short space of time in the industry, the 27-year-old admits that she grew up being quite the introvert and had a very low self-esteem because of her height.

“I was actually a very shy introvert before I joined the National School of the Arts,” she said in an article published by local media on Monday, 07 May 2018. “Growing up, I was tall… when you’re a young child and you don’t understand what confidence is at that point in time, you feel as though you’re not adequate enough, because you’re tall. You’re too tall, you’re too long, all the boys are short, so no one wants to crush on you because you’re tall, but now, we’re owning it.”

The club has also revealed that this week’s Step Up Saturday event, which will take place on Saturday, 29 September 2018, will feature the likes of DJ Milkshake, Nel and Double D. Strictly no under 18s will be permitted into the club.
