Thabsie has confirmed her cameo in emerging artist, Faith K’s Moyeni music video, which has a reggae look and feel.
Thabsie took to Instagram on Wednesday, 28 July 2021, to confirm the release of Faith K’s Moyeni music video. The single is the collaboration between the two artists and marks somewhat of a comeback for Thabsie to releasing music. The musician has yet to release her own new music since the beginning of the lockdown. Her last release was acoustic versions of her hit singles on her Instagram account.
Moyeni sees Faith K exploring reggae influences through sampling Bongo Maffin’s hit single, Mari Ye Phepha. However, the musicians continue to reference other popular singles throughout the song, such as Thabsie’s reference of Jill Scott’s Golden in her verse. Moreover, due to the feel of the song, the music video’s visual experience is created as a reggae-inspired party.
Therefore, the music video is presented as a reggae party at night, filled with dancing, music and games. The two musicians are dressed accordingly, including the styling of the faux locs worn by both Faith K and Thabsie.
