The Single Wives SA’s season premiere saw the viewers questioning the show’s title, with many expressing uncertainty about whether the ladies are considered single or married.
The Single Wives SA’s season premiere aired on M-Net on Thursday, 3 September 2020. The show introduced the audience to six women, whose marriages ended when they got divorced or were widowed. Upon their introductions, the women spoke candidly about what they want from a man, and received advice from relationship coaches, Justin Cohen and Mapaseka Mokwele, who pointed out where they could be going wrong in love.
Following the first episode, the majority of the feedback received on social media saw viewers questioning the show’s title. Those unaware of the premise of the show were unsure about the relationship status of the women, and what their intentions were.
The Single Wives is originally an Australian franchise created in 2018, which saw four women looking to find love the second time around. The South African version follows the same format, however, the coaches have taken on two additional women who have a similar intention.
