Thickleeyonce has been facing backlash on Twitter for her comment on a new social media phenomenon, with some accusing her of body shaming skinny women.

Thickleeyonce has been facing backlash on Twitter for allegedly body shaming skinny women on Tuesday, 1 September 2020. In a since-deleted post, the influencer commented on a tweet describing a new social media phenomenon that seeks to promote body positivity. The publication used an image of what Thickleeyonce described as “slim bodies (that) are already accepted by society.”

The backlash she received was from Twitter users who found it ironic that she had tweeted such, considering that she has positioned herself as a body positivity activist committed to celebrating all body types. In response to the continued backlash, Thickleeyonce stated, “I was highlighting the fact that the body positivity movement is being hijacked by people who are already accepted in society and subsequently pushing out the people it was originally meant for, which is fat people.”
