Media personality, Thuli Phongolo, has maintained her silence after revealing that she was offered R100 000 by an artist to pose as their partner as a publicity stunt for their album.
Fans played guessing games after former Generations: The Legacy actress, Thuli Phongolo, posted that, “There’s an artist that offered to pay me a 100 000.00 to act like we’re dating prior to his album release. My team and I have heard it all! [It is so little],” on Thursday, 31 October 2019.
One of the first names that her followers guessed as the culprit was BAPS creator, Yanga Chief. The rapper released his EP on Friday, 18 October 2019, and her followers thought it would be too much of a coincidence it if was not him. Thuli Phongolo did not respond to the suggestion, but the uTatakho hitmaker responded after being tagged on the post, writing, “No, no, no. I don’t have R100 000.”
Another popular musician that was named in the comments section was Mina Nawe hitmaker, Donald. Donald first retweeted a comment from a follower stating, “Thuli is now Mrs #TeamDonald [and] we welcome her. Thank you, Mr #TeamDonald for choosing wisely.”
Donald then shared multiple news articles that asked him to verify that it was not him that offered the actress the money, which he claimed it was not. Thuli responded to one of the news articles Donald shared, writing, “We seriously need more substantial news than this, I can’t.”
Moreover, after Thuli decided not to reveal the identity of the musician, other social media users questioned why she would decline the substantial amount of money. One of the comments asked, “Aren’t you an actress anymore?” Another social media user commented on the post by writing, “I would even dump you as my girlfriend for [not] acting so we get the [cash].”
