The highly anticipated reality show, Tropika Island of Treasure Curaçao, has officially opened its auditions, with the celebrities stating what they expect from the contestants on their team.
The production for season nine of Tropika Island of Treasure Curaçao officially commenced on Monday, 5 August 2019, with the auditions being opened to South Africans all over the country. This year, the auditions will take place entirely online, allowing for potential contestants to enter from anywhere in South Africa, for their chance to win a spot on the island.
Season nine will see the six celebrities, comprising Simphiwe Ngema, Kay Sibiya, Nadia Jafta, Siphesihle Vazi, Ntando Duma and Bouwer Bosch, joined by six consumer contestants who will partner with them in the competition to win their share of R1 000 000.
In an official press release issued by the reality show on Monday, 5 August 2019, Kay Sibiya described potential contestants as individuals who can stand out, be themselves and are ready for fame and fortune. Nadia Jafta advised the public not to play it safe with their audition tapes and to be bold and loud in order to showcase their authentic personality.
Finally, Siphesihle Vazi stated, “Be yourself as much as you can. The camera can read uncertainty and fear, so pretend the camera is your favourite person in the world; that one person you like talking to.”
The reality series will showcase each contestant, along with their celebrity leader, competing in a host of tasks and challenges which will lead to the ultimate crowning of the last islander standing.
Season nine of Tropika Island Of Treasure is scheduled to air in late 2019 on SABC 3.
