uTatakho

uTatakho is a reality show on Mzansi Magic which helps a troubled individual determine  who their biological father is each week, often resulting in conflict amongst families.

uTatakho is a reality show produced by Connect TV and broadcast on Mzansi Magic. The show was launched in 2015, and was originally hosted by media personality, Bonginkosi Dlamini, commonly known by his stage name, Zola 7. Currently, the show is hosted by motivational speaker and actor, Nimrod Nkosi, who took over the hosting duties in the second season.

uTatakho centres around facilitating a constructive meeting between men and their alleged children, in order to determine the biological relationship between them. The docu-series exposes hidden secrets from the past which have shaped the lives of the children. All participants undergo a DNA test, proving the paternity of the children once and for all.

Mzansi Magic has also described the message of the show as, “Whilst it’s also expected to generate dialogue and debate, it is fundamentally about addressing a social concern that many across this country deal with every day.”
