Listen to Vanessa Mdee’s brand new single, ‘That’s For Me’

Tanzanian pop star, Vanessa Mdee, has teamed up with some of South Africa’s finest musicians on her new single, ‘That’s For Me,’ due for release on Friday, 18 January 2019.

Gqom duo, Distruction Boyz, made a surprise announcement on Thursday, 17 January 2019 saying they would be releasing a song Tanzanian singer Vanessa Mdee.

“New music is dropping tomorrow,” the pair said in the Instagram post. DJ Tira and Prince Bulo are also featured on the song, ‘That’s For Me’   by Mdee. The singer hyped up her fans for the release of the song tomorrow, Friday, 18 January 2019 asking her collaborators and fans if they were ready for the song to drop.

Mdee is well-known for being the first winner of Tanzania’s MTV Base VJ search in 2007. She is the recipient of several awards, including an All Africa Music Award for Best Female Artiste In Eastern Africa and Best African Pop and three Tanzania Music Awards for RnB Song of the Year, Best Collaboration, Best Afro Pop.

‘That’s For Me’ is the duo’s first musical release since their sophomore album ‘It Was All A Dream’ was released in October last year. The eleven-track album is supported by the single ‘Amaxoki’ featuring DJ Tira K Dot. The album also features Dladla Mshunqisi on the song ‘Umuthi’, Mr Eazi on ‘Shasha Kushasha’, DJ Target No Ndile on ‘Iphara’ and Beast on ‘Izinja Zam’. Their debut album titled ‘Gqom Is The Future’ won the SAMA for Record Of The Year.
