Vax Live Africa, featuring Nomzamo Mbatha, available on Showmax

Showmax has confirmed that the Vax Live Africa benefit concert, which features South Africa’s Nomzamo Mbatha, is now available for viewing on the streaming service.

Showmax took to Twitter on Monday, 10 May 2021, to confirm the availability of the recently hosted virtual benefit concert, Vax Live Africa. The virtual concert was hosted to drum up support and funding for vaccines for countries in Africa that do not have enough to vaccinate their citizens. Moreover, as highlighted in the preview, the significance of the concert is that it is the first major mass capacity concert that has been hosted since the start of the pandemic, albeit virtually.

The star-studded concert was shot in Los Angeles, California and welcomed A-listers in the entertainment industry. The main host of the show was Selena Gomez. Additional non-musical cameos included Oprah Winfrey, Sean Penn, Chrissy Teigen, Prince Harry and South Africa’s own Nomzamo Mbatha. Moreover, the concert boasts 12 musical performances from the likes of Jennifer Lopez, J Balvin, the Foo Fighters and Eddie Verder, to name a few.
