A new season of Fixer Upper and Fixer Upper: Welcome Home will air on Magnolia Network, and this is separate from HGTV.
Home renovation shows are becoming increasingly popular, because they provide inspiration, and they are created to be binge-worthy.
Fixer Upper was one of the most popular home renovation shows on television before it was cancelled in 2018.
Fortunately, with the launch of Magnolia Network, Chip and Joanna Gaines have announced that they will be returning with a new season of Fixer Upper, but not on HGTV.
Why are home renovation shows so popular?
Home renovation shows have become popular on television channels and the hosts on these shows have often also become celebrities that are able to branch out with new business ventures outside of reality television.
One of the reasons why these home renovation shows are so popular is because watching these projects unfold gives viewers new ideas for how to invest in their own homes.
On top of this, even if you do not have the budget for all of your dream upgrades to your home just yet, watching a home renovation show is a good way to live out your home renovation dreams vicariously with every new episode.
These shows are also often created to be very bingeable, which makes it easy to watch one episode after the other without even noticing.
When is Fixer Upper coming back to HGTV?
Fixer Upper quickly became one of the most recognisable home renovation shows on television.
Though it had all of the features that make these shows so enjoyable to watch, the hosts of the show, Chip and Joanna Gaines, managed to charm audiences so much that they have revived the signature farmhouse-chic interior design style that Joanna is known for and they have collaborated with other famous brand like Target to expand their brand into the home décor market.
However, even with this great success, Fixer Upper was cancelled at its peak in 2018, so that Chip and Joanna could shift their focus back to their family life.
Although this was sad news for many fans of the show and the couple, this cancellation was short-lived, and Chip and Joanna soon announced that they will be releasing new content on the Magnolia Network.
The erstwhile DIY Network relaunched in 2022 as Magnolia Network and features a lot of new content from popular creators, as well as a reboot of Fixer Upper which has already begun airing.
Magnolia Network also carries a new Fixer Upper spin-off called Fixer Upper: Welcome Home and some staple DIY Network shows
Even though Magnolia Network is a channel all on its own and it is separate from the HGTV channel, cable subscribers will not have to pay any extra fees to access this content, unless you want to stream the content from the Discovery+ streaming service.
Why did Chip and Joanna Gaines decide to reboot Fixer Upper now?
Chip and Joanna have always been open about the fact that their decision to cancel Fixer Upper in 2018 was incredibly difficult, but final. This is why so many fans were surprised to hear that they would be rebooting the show on Magnolia Network.
However, in the short trailer for the reboot that was posted on Joanna’s Instagram page, it is evident that the couple really missed the show and it is likely that this show, which brought in about 17 million viewers at its peak, is the perfect attraction to entice people to the new network until it builds a loyal following of its own.
The reruns of the original Fixer Upper usually air on HGTV on Mondays between 6 p.m. /5c and 7 p.m. /6c, but if you have missed these episodes, the full five seasons of the show are available to stream on HBO Max, Amazon Prime Video, and Philo, Apple TV+, DIRECTV, Sling TV and Vudu.

What is Fixer Upper: Welcome Home all about?
Fans were elated to hear that the Gaineses would be rebooting their original Fixer Upper show for Magnolia Network.
However, they were even more excited to hear that the new Fixer Upper: Welcome Home show that was previously only available through a Discovery+ subscription would also be available on this channel.
What makes Fixer Upper: Welcome Home so unique is that Chip and Joanna have so much more to juggle throughout the renovations and this makes the show much more suspenseful, even though the houses turn out just as beautiful in the end.
