Qiniso Van Damme has been selected as the first leading lady of the South African version of The Bachelorette SA, which is expected to premiere in early 2021.
Qiniso Van Damme is a Capetonian model and actress who gained prominence on the second season of M-Net’s The Bachelor SA, which premiered in February 2020. The model, who was the first contestant to step out of the limo on the first night of The Bachelor SA, forged a strong connection with Marc Buckner and quickly became a fan-favourite. As the ladies in the house dwindled down to the top five, Marc chose to send Qiniso home, fearing that she had joined the show to gain personal fame.
Audience members did not agree with Marc’s decision to let her go, and immediately began campaigning for her to take on the role of the first Bachelorette in South Africa. In July 2020, M-Net announced that Qiniso would be the first leading lady on the South African version of The Bachelorette SA, which is currently in pre-production.
