Yanga Chief has confirmed his feature on the afro-pop single, Amaphiko 2.0, and the music video by rising star, Sphesihle Sikhakhane.
Yanga Chief took to Twitter on Wednesday, 22 September 2021, to confirm the availability of the Amaphiko 2.0 music video. The single is the current lead single by rising star and vocalist, Sphesihle Sikhakhane. The single itself is a surprise but fitting collaboration between the two artists. This is as Sphesihle affirms herself as an afro-pop artist on the maskandi-influenced, mid-tempo single. Lyrically, Sphesihle speaks about how she wishes she could fly so she could see her long-distance love interest.
The DJs Production-shot music video was directed by Sibusiso Samela. The music video borrows the lyrical content of the single and provides a story of two lovers who long to be together. They are separated by distance due to one party working in the city, while Sphesihle is stuck in the townships, longing to see her love interest, Yanga Chief. The music video ends with a conclusive sequence featuring the lovers dressed in traditional regalia as they reunite.
