Yanga Chief prepares for the release of his debut album

South African hip-hop artist, Yanga Chief, took to his social media pages on Tuesday, 16 July 2019, to announce that he has finished working on his debut album.

Yanga Chief has been a prominent figure in South African hip-hop ever since he made the move from producing some of the country’s biggest hits, to steadily establishing himself as a solo hip-hop artist. Shortly after the official release of his latest single, Utatakho, he has revealed that he is done working on his debut album.

Taking to his Twitter page on Tuesday, 16 July 2019, the artist shared the news by stating, “Last night was my last night making my album. Praise Guard (God).” The tweet was accompanied by emojis that further expressed his gratitude at having reached such a milestone.

His announcement post has received over 600 likes, 73 retweets and numerous comments. One of those comments was from popular rapper, Rouge, who playfully teased Yanga Chief by asking him if that meant that the two of them could finally start working on a song together for her upcoming studio album. Yanga Chief responded affirmatively to the prospect of working the Bazigally hit-maker.

Although Yanga Chief has shared that he is done with the recording of his debut album, the artist has not shared any further details. However, Yanga Chief has a number of possible features which fans would be excited to hear from him. The artist has a long-standing working relationship with hip-hop artist, AKA, having worked on multiple songs together like Jika and Tricky. In addition, he has worked with other prominent names in hip-hop including Khuli Chana, Anatii and JR.
