Following the release of his single ‘uTatakho’ last Friday, 5 October 2018, the rapper took to social media to reveal plans to shoot the music video next week.

South African rapper and producer Yanga has revealed that he plans to shoot the music video for his single uTatakho next week. Taking to Instagram last night, 10 October 2018, the rapper revealed the news through a series of posts on his Instagram story.

Yanga released his highly anticipated single titled ‘uTatakho’ on Friday, 5 October 2018. The musician had been hyping the song up on social media for the past few weeks, as fans also wait patiently for the release of his upcoming album. The single has been well received by fans, and is Yanga’s second offering this year, following the release of ‘So Soon’ earlier this year.

Yanga is undoubtedly one of the country’s most favourite musicians, and has worked with South African Hip-Hop royalty, including AKA, Kid X and K.O. Speaking to SA Hip Hop Mag in a 2015 article, the rapper revealed what inspired him to pursue a career in music, citing Skwatta Kamp’s album as one of his inspirations.

“I always wanted to entertain, I used to enter high school talent shows, was in the drama club, I played a trumpet in the brass band, etc,” he said. “I loved the stage. Any way I could get it, I did. I developed a passion for South African Hip-Hop off the back of Mkhukhu Funkshen, that to me was the loudest any black male could express himself. I came to Jo’burg to be a part of this then bubbling genre. It seemed to me that SA Hip-Hop could take over not just the country, but the world too. I wanted my voice to be a part of that movement.”

Yanga went on to confirm that he has shot the music video for one of his unreleased singles, which is dedicated to his mother, titled ‘Mbali Yam.’ He also alluded to the release of his next album, which he says is scheduled to be released at the end of January 2019.
