Zodwa Wabantu acquires first container for egg business

Published on

Zodwa Wabantu has revealed that she is expanding her egg business through the acquisition of a container that will function as a storage facility, in addition to being the first outlet for her egg sales.

Zodwa Wabantu took to Instagram on Sunday, 18 April 2021, to reveal that she has purchased her first container. The container is dedicated to growing her new business venture, Zodwa Wabantu Eggs, which was launched last year amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a subsequent post, she revealed the improvements that were being made to the container. Her caption revealed that the container will function as a storage facility for the eggs she will be selling in Soweto. Moreover, the front end of the container will be turned into a ready-to-sell platform for the eggs. She also detailed the intention to sell individual eggs, which will retail at less than R5 each.

The sincerity of the last sentiment was questioned by some, considering the current selling price of the trays. A tray of 30 eggs is sold at R150 each, therefore, when Zodwa Wabantu suggested that an individual egg will cost less than R5, it drew scepticism.
