Zozibini Tunzi fronts premiere of The Braai Show with Cass

Published on

Zozibini Tunzi was the first guest on The Braai Show with Cass, in an episode that confirmed Cassper Nyovest as the executive producer of the show.

SABC 1 took to Twitter on Wednesday, 8 September 2021, to confirm that the first guest to appear on The Braai Show with Cass would be former Miss Universe, Zozibini Tunzi. The post came on the back of the South African Broadcasting Corporation setting the record straight about who owns the rights to the show, in a statement which read, “The SABC would like to reiterate that The Braai show with Cassper will continue as planned and the urgent court application in question has been withdrawn.”

Fans who tuned into the first episode already knew about Cassper Nyovest’s affinity for Tunzi. Therefore, in watching the first episode, many believed they could sense the chemistry between the two. Moreover, viewers believed that Nyovest would throw suggestions of a possible romance between the two of them by highlighting commonalities that they share. However, more than anything, viewers appreciated seeing the longest-running Miss Universe showcasing her personality.

However, the biggest surprise for fans was the revelation that Nyovest is credited as one of the executive producers of the show, a fact which Nyovest drove home after feeling vindicated. The rapper-turned-television presenter took to Twitter and stated, “Y’all said the show wouldn’t see the light of day. Y’all also said I worked for the boy. Well, The Braai Show with Cass premieres tonight at 18:00 on SABC 1 and like I said! Ha ke spanele malaatie (I do not work for that young man)! I just can’t stop winning! Last question, guess who got the last laugh? Haha!”

Starting off with favourable reviews, the season is expected to feature personalities such as Somizi Mhlongo, Mihlali Ndamase and Drip Footwear founder, Lekau Sehoana. The Braai Show with Cass airs every Wednesday on SABC 1 at 18:00.
